U-M Slack
Issue
- I created a U-M Slack workspace synced to an MCommunity group or Canvas course, but some or all of the MCommunity group or Canvas course members cannot access the workspace or aren't listed as members.
- I added a new member to the MCommunity group or Canvas course that manages my workspace, but they still haven't appeared in the workspace.
Resolution
Most sync issues are because the next scheduled sync has not occurred yet, and/or the member has not created their U-M Slack account.
- Workspace membership is synced approximately every 12 hours at 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Eastern time (12 a.m. and 10 p.m. UTC).
- Group members must have logged into U-M Slack to be synced to a workspace BEFORE the next membership sync at 8 a.m. or 6 p.m. (Refer to Create a U-M Slack Account)
- If the member has logged into U-M Slack to create their account and has waited at least 24 hours since first logging in, but the issue still persists, contact the ITS Service Center for assistance.
