Resolution

Add new media from within the Media Gallery

  1. Navigate to the course > Media Gallery > Media tab > Add Media > Add New.
  2. Click Media Upload and select your file.
  1. While your file is uploading, edit the NameDescription, add Tags, and enter any custom metadata as needed. Be sure to click Save.
  2. Do not leave the page until the blue upload bar turns to green and you get a success message.
    • Newly added media within Media Gallery will be automatically added to your My Media library and is automatically published to the Media Gallery.
  3. There is a Choose another file button at the bottom of the page to add another file. You can upload files and save metadata on the same page, but be careful to make sure all the upload bars have turned green before navigating away.
  4. When the upload is complete, two links appear near the Save button:
  • Go to Media directs you to view your newly uploaded media on the Media page.
  • Go to Media Gallery directs you back to the course Media Gallery.

Publish media that has already been added to your My Media library

  1. Navigate to the course > Media Gallery > Media tab > Add Media.
  2. You will see all the media from My Media.
  3. Check the box next to the media items you want to add to your Media Gallery for this course.
  4. Click Publish in the upper-right of the page.

Display embedded media in this Media Gallery

Automatically display all media embedded in course content (Pages, Assignments, etc) in the Media Gallery that hasn't already been published there. Important: MiVideo student assignment submissions will also appear in the Media Gallery when this option is checked.

  1. Navigate to the course > Media Gallery > Channel Actions > Edit
  2. Check the box Display embedded media in this Media Gallery

Note: This setting can be changed at any time. Unchecking the box will remove any embedded media not published to the Media Gallery.
