Kaltura Capture Missing From Add New Drop-down In Canvas

Issue

Kaltura Capture does not appear as a menu item in the Add New drop-down menu in my course's Media Gallery, how can I create my recording?

Resolution

You will not be able to add a Kaltura Capture recording to the course Media Gallery via the Add New menu.

1. Instead navigate to My Media in Canvas: Account > My Media > Add New > Kaltura Capture
2. Create your recording and upload to your My Media
3. Publish the media to the course Media Gallery. See the Add Media to a Course Media Gallery article.

Kaltura Capture does not appear in the menu in your course Media Gallery because Capture cannot automatically publish to a Media Gallery. This information cannot be passed to the application. Capture is only aware of your My Media library, therefore the application can only upload to your My Media.
