Move a Zoom Course Meeting to a Different Course in Canvas

Environment

Zoom in Canvas integration for U-M Zoom users

Issue

How do I move a Zoom meeting I created in the Zoom in Canvas integration for one course to another course?

Resolution

Zoom meetings can only be associated with one course. If you want to fully remove it from one course and add it to a different course, follow these instructions.

Note: These instructions can also help to restore a deleted recurring session to Canvas. When prompted to delete meetings, you must delete all occurrences in Canvas and Zoom and restore them with the instructions below.
  1. Navigate https://zoom.umich.edu/meeting/ and log in with U-M Weblogin, if prompted
  2. Copy or write down the meeting ID from the Meeting ID column for the Zoom Meeting you want to move to a different course
  3. Click on the link for the meeting, scroll to the bottom of the page, and click Delete this Meeting. (Don't worry - it won't be permanently deleted, and we will recover it immediately!)
    • If the meeting is in the past, access it by clicking Previous Meetings
  4. Click Delete again in the confirmation pop-up
  5. Navigate to https://umich.zoom.us/meeting/trashcan/list (You can instead click the link to the left OR click Recently Deleted in the upper right corner of your meeting list, as well)
  6. Click Recover next to the Zoom Meeting
  7. Follow the Add an Existing Zoom Meeting to a Canvas Course instructions to add the meeting to the new course
