Issue

How do I update the Zoom app on my computer or mobile device to a new version?

Resolution

  • If you are using a MiWorkspace device: open the Software Center (Windows/PC) or Managed Software Center (Mac) and follow the steps to update the Zoom application described in the linked documentation.
  • If you are using a HITS managed device (CoreImage):
    • PC users: your device will be updated for you. No further action is needed.
    • Mac users: follow the steps described in this Zoom support article.
    • Contact HITS with any questions.
  • If you are using a device that is managed by another department (other than MiWorkspace or HITS): you may be able to update the app yourself using the steps below for personal computers and mobile devices. If you are unable to follow these steps, contact the department that manages your device.
  • If you are using a personal computer or a mobile device (iOS or Android): follow the steps described in this Zoom support article.

Auto-update disabled, contact administrator

If you are trying to update Zoom using the method described in the Zoom support article, you may get a notice that auto-update has been disabled and to contact your administrator. If this happens, follow the below instructions applicable to your situation:

  • MiWorkspace device: uninstall Zoom from your device and reinstall it from the Software Center (Windows/PC) or Managed Software Center (Mac).
  • LSA-managed device: uninstall Zoom from your device and reinstall it from the Software Center (Windows/PC) or Managed Software Center (Mac).
  • HITS-managed device: HITS will update your device for you and no action is needed from you. Contact HITS if you have further questions or concerns.
  • All others: contact the department that manages your device and ask them to help you update the Zoom app on your device.
