Issue
How do I pull reports in Zoom for:
Resolution
Note: If you did not use the registration, polling/quiz, survey, or Q&A features for a meeting/webinar, no corresponding report will be generated.
Use the following instructions to navigate to available reports (attendance, registration, polling, etc.).
- Sign in to U-M Zoom.
- Click Reports in the left navigation and select Usage reports.
- Select the report you would like to run:
- Meeting and webinar history
- Note: Attendee, Performance, Q&A, Poll, Quiz, and Survey data are available after the webinar has ended.
- Meeting and webinar registrations
- Enter the meeting or webinar date range or the meeting or webinar ID, then click Search.
- Click the hyperlinked number in the Participants column to view a list of participants in the history reports.
- Click Export to download the results as a CSV file, then select the option you want.
- Once the report is generated, it will automatically download and can be opened in Excel, Notepad, or any other application that supports CSVs.
Important: If the same individual joins and leaves the meeting or webinar multiple times, they will appear in the attendance reports for each join/leave instance. For example, the same individual may appear in the list three times, each with a duration of 1, 17, or 5 minutes. To see only unique individuals and the total time they spent in the meeting or webinar, check the Show unique users box. In this scenario, the example individual would appear once with a duration of 23 minutes.
To view reports for Zoom course meetings scheduled through Canvas, refer to Zoom: Attendance and Poll Reports in Canvas.
Common issues: Empty/missing reports, missing data, or unable to generate reports
If your report is empty/missing, there is data missing from the report (that you were expecting to see), or you receive the following error, "Unable to generate report since the meeting does not require registration," where the Download button would normally be, try the following:
- Did you click Search after adjusting the options? For example, even if you select Poll Report and do not click Search, Zoom will still generate a Registration report. Try adjusting your selections again, and click Search.
- Did you require registration for the meeting/webinar, launch polls/quizzes/Q&As, or send a post-meeting/webinar survey? If you did not, the report will be empty.
- Did you relaunch the polls/quizzes after collecting responses? Zoom will only show responses from the most recent launch. Zoom purges previous launch data and can't recover it when you relaunch a poll/quiz in the same meeting or webinar.
- Did you delete questions from the registration form once it was live? Previous responses to the question you removed will also be removed from the Registration report. Try adding the question back verbatim. This may allow previously submitted responses to that question to reappear in the report.
- Did you delete the previous meeting/webinar? Deleting a meeting/webinar from your Meetings or Webinars lists in the Zoom web portal will prevent you from generating new reports for that meeting/webinar. However, any reports you generated before deleting the meeting/webinar are still available.
- Are you using your Personal Meeting ID (PMI)? You cannot require registration when using your PMI. If you want to require registration, the meeting ID must be generated automatically, not using your personal meeting ID.
