Edit Media page is the location to edit the details about your media. See the
Edit Media articles for information about the other editing tabs on this page.
Issue
How do I control who can comment on or make clips of my media?
Resolution
The Options tab on the Edit Media page allows you to control commenting and clipping of your media by others.
Notes:
- To edit a media item you have to be the media owner or co-editor of the content. See the Media Collaboration and Roles article for information about ownership
- The editing tabs may vary depending on your role
- To edit the media file (trim, chop, splice, copy, and add hotspots and Interactive Video Quizzes) see the Video Editor articles
- Navigate to the Edit Media page:
- Canvas: Account > My Media > pencil icon next to the media item
- or from the Media page, click Actions > Edit
- MiVideo Mediaspace: user drop-down menu > My Media > pencil icon next to the media item
- or from the Media page, click Actions > Edit
- Select the Options tab
Notes:
- Media Owners are always permitted to make clips (copies) of their own media without having to enable the clipping option
- Options are set on an individual entry basis
- The available settings depend on your application’s configuration and media type (you can’t make a clip of an image, for example)
- Comments: When comments are enabled sitewide, they are enabled for all media. You can choose to block and/or close comments on a per entry basis Click Save when done
- Clipping: By checking the Clipping box and clicking Save, you are allowing other logged in users to make their own editable copies of the video
