MiVideo: Delete a Playlist in Canvas and Mediaspace

Playlists organize media into easy to browse collections so viewers don’t have to search to find related media. Multiple playlists can be created and the position media appear in the playlist can be ordered. See related Playlist articles for more information about these compilations.

Issue

How to permanently delete a Canvas Media Gallery playlist, Mediaspace channel playlist, or Mediaspace personal playlist.

Important: Deleting a playlist does not delete the media in the playlist from MiVideo. The media will remain in My Media and in the Media Gallery/channel it was published in.

Resolution

Canvas: Media Gallery Playlist

Teachers, TAs, and designers can delete a Media Gallery playlist.

  1. Navigate to the Media Gallery > Channel Actions  > Edit > Playlists tab.
  2. Click the trash icon next to the playlist to remove.
  3. Click Delete to confirm.

Mediaspace: Channel Playlist

Only channel managers can delete a channel playlist.

  1. Navigate to the user drop-down menu > My Channels > edit pencil icon > Playlists tab.
  2. Click the trash icon next to the playlist to remove.
  3. Click Delete to confirm.

Mediaspace: Personal Playlist

Only you can delete your personal playlists.

Note: The Watch Later playlist can be used to collect media to watch later. This playlist cannot be deleted or published.

  1. Navigate to the user drop-down menu > My Playlists.
  2. Click the trash icon next to the playlist to remove.
  3. Click Delete to confirm.
