Mute your notifications

You can also choose to temporarily mute notifications on all your devices from Google Chat on the web (chat.google.com) or Gmail instead of turning them off completely.

From either chat.google.com or Gmail:

  1. Next to your status indicator in the top right corner, click the Down arrow.
  2. Select Do not disturb.
  3. Select a duration from the list or select Until a specific time.
  4. Click Set.

Tip: Notifications automatically turn back on after the mute duration expires.
