Resolution

Student engagement is more than just number of plays. Depending on which Annoto features are enabled in the course, Annoto analytics also measure content creation and interactions students have with the video.

  • Annoto analytics are similar to but separate from MiVideo analytics.
  • Annoto analytics are already enabled in Canvas at the course level for all MiVideo videos in the course.
    • Both Analytics and Video Analytics are enabled in the course level Preferences. Consumption analytics are enabled in Video Analytics > Options.
  • Instructors can quickly view the percentage of participation for:
    • Engaged viewers
    • Viewers who wrote at least one comment or reply
    • Viewers who wrote at least one personal note
  • Detailed analytics per video and per viewer are captured.
  • Course analytics can be exported in CSV format.

  1. Navigate to the Annoto Dashboard in the course:
    • From the Media Gallery
      • Media Gallery > Channel Actions in the upper right > Annoto Dashboard.
    • From the left course navigation
      • Settings Navigation > enable Annoto Dashboard. Note: this only has to be done once to have the navigation link appear in the course.
