Quickly turn passive course videos into engaging and interactive experiences for students using Annoto! Annoto is an add-on to MiVideo in Canvas that allows students to collaborate within the video or audio player.

Resolution

Student engagement is more than just number of plays, Annoto analytics also measure content creation and interactions students have with the video.

  • Annoto analytics are similar to but separate from MiVideo analytics
  • Insights in how students engage with videos
    • Views
    • Engagement
    • Collaboration
    • Interactions
    • Notes
  • Detailed analytics at the course level, per video, and per user are captured
  • Analytics in the Annoto Dashboard are accessible to all teachers and TAs in the course
  • Course analytics can be exported in CSV format
  • Annoto analytics are already enabled at the course level for all MiVideo videos in the course

  1. Navigate to the Annoto Dashboard in the course:
    • From the Media Gallery
      • Media Gallery > Channel Actions in the upper right > Annoto Dashboard.
    • From the left course navigation
      • Settings Navigation > enable Annoto Dashboard. Note: this only has to be done once to have the navigation link appear in the course.
      • Click the Annoto Dashboard link in the left course navigation.
