Issue

How to publish Zoom recordings saved to your Zoom cloud storage as a MiVideo video to a Canvas course using the Zoom Recordings Manager.

Resolution

  1. Optional (only do once): check the "Optimize the recording for 3rd party video editor" setting to improve the quality of your Zoom recording. This setting is found by logging into your account at https://umich.zoom.us/, selecting "Settings" from the left navigation, selecting the "Recording" tab, then scrolling down to the "Advanced cloud recording settings" section.
  2. After receiving an email notification that your Zoom recording is available, navigate to the Zoom Recording Manager at https://zoominfo.euc.it.umich.edu/recordings/service/kaltura
  3. Scroll down to the Completed Cloud Recordings section and check the box next to the recording(s) you want to copy to MiVideo.
UM Zoom is HIPAA compliant as well as permitting other kinds of data types that MiVideo may not permit. Therefore, it is up to you to determine on a per-recording basis which recordings are appropriate for storage in MiVideo. See the Sensitive Data Guide webpage for more information about what data types are permitted.
  1. Click Copy Selected Recordings to MiVideo Now.
