Issue

How do I remove my U-M Google account from my Android phone's settings?

Resolution

The steps below may differ depending on your phone's model and version. For the most up-to-date instructions, refer to the Google Help Center: Add or remove an account on Android.

  1. Open your phone's Settings app.
  2. Tap Passwords & accounts.
  3. Tap your @umich.edu (or other UMICH email address) account under "Accounts" and then tap Remove account.
  4. Tap Remove account, then Delete to confirm.
  5. If this is the only Google account on the phone, you'll need to enter your phone's pattern, PIN, or password for security.
