TeamDynamix Groups and How They are Synced

Environment

TeamDynamix (TDX)

Issue

TeamDynamix Administrators need to understand how TeamDynamix groups work.

Resolution

TeamDynamix Groups and MCommunity Groups

  • TDX leverages groups for several areas, the most common being Responsible Groups
    • These groups are managed by membership of MCommunity groups
    • To find the MCommunity Group that syncs to TDX search for the group name in MCommunity with a TDX-prefix. For example, to find the group ITS-Collaboration, search in MCommunity for TDX-ITS-Collaboration
  • Individuals must be granted access to the application in addition to being designated a member of the MCommunity group for their TDX account to be associated with these TDX Groups
  • You must use the group creation process to have these groups created for you
    • TDX Group Request
    • Once your group(s) has been created, you can add individuals to the MCommunity group(s)
    • TDX does not support sub-groups or nested groups within MCommunity groups.
  • If you need to have a large number of groups created, you may choose to use the Bulk Group Creation process.

In MCommunity, the group name includes TDX- as a prefix. That prefix does not appear in the TeamDynamix group list. See Request a TeamDynamix Responsible Group.

MCommunity and TDX Group Synchronization

Twice a day at 6:00am and 6:00pm, MCommunity groups are synchronized with the TDX groups. If you add the user to the application after the MCommunity group, it will catch up at the next scheduled synchronization time.
