Dropbox: Change Name of Team Folder

Environment

U-M Dropbox

Issue

Can I change the name of my Dropbox Team Folder? If so, how?

Resolution

Yes, you can change the name of your Dropbox Team Folder using the ITS Team Folder Manager tool.

  1. Find your Team Folder from the list and click Edit beside it.
  2. Select the new group from the drop-down under "Select the MCommunity group that should control who has access to the Dropbox Team Folder."
  3. Confirm your change in the confirmation drop-down, and click Edit Team Folder.

Notes:

  • You must be an eligible owner of the Team Folder's associated MCommunity group (i.e., faculty or regular staff).
  • Team Folder names must start and end with a letter or number and may only contain alphanumeric characters, spaces, hyphens (-), and underscores (_). Consecutive spaces, hyphens, or underscores are not allowed.
  • Departmental prefixes can be changed using the tool as well. However, you can only change it to another prefix with which you have a departmental affiliation.
