Creating or Modifying a TeamDynamix Desktop

Environment

TeamDynamix 

Issue

Users may want to set up their own desktop with information they want to see.

Resolution

Create a new desktop

  1. Open TDNext (Users)
    1. (If you're in the TeamDynamix Client Portal, click your name in the upper-right corner and choose TDNext.)
  2. Click the Desktop tab in the upper-left
  3. In the gray menu bar, click New Desktop
  4. Give your desktop a name
  5. Click Save
  6. On the Content page that opens, click Edit Layout
  7. Select a design
  8. Click Save
  9. In the Available Content list along the left, click a category
  10. Drag any content boxes you'd like to see to your desktop
  11. When finished, click Save
    1. You can close the desktop creation window
  12. In TDNext, select your new desktop in the drop-down menu in the upper-right

(Refresh your browser if you don't see the new desktop in the drop-down menu.)

Modify an existing desktop

  1. Open TDNext (Users)
    1. (If you're in the TeamDynamix Client Portal, click your name in the upper-right corner and choose TDNext.)
  2. Click the Desktop tab in the upper-left
  3. Using the drop down in the upper right, select the Desktop you want to modify 
  4. Select Edit Desktop
  5. If you want to change column layout, click Edit Layout, select a layout and Save
  6. If you want to modify the reports click in the Available Content list along the left
  7. Search for the report you want to add*, then drag it to the desired column.
    1. If the report you need doesn't exist, use this Article to make the report, then add it to your desktop using these steps
  8. When finished, click Save
    1. You can close the desktop creation window
  9. In TDNext, select your new desktop in the drop-down menu in the upper-right

(Refresh your browser if you don't see the new desktop in the drop-down menu.)

* If the report doesn't exist yet,  you can copy a report on the desktop by clicking the info button (i), then Run Report, Actions, Copy. You can also copy any report by clicking Reports, selecting your report from the left hand navigation, then Actions, Copy. Modify the report to meet your needs, save it, then return to step 7 of Modify a Desktop.
