Why Can't I Find Someone to Add as a Collaborator in My Media in Canvas?

Issue

When attempting to add someone as a collaborator to media in My Media in Canvas, I'm unable to find the person in the search box.

Resolution

To share My Media content with someone, they must have:

1. A Canvas account AND
2. Must have accessed their My Media account at least once and authorized access 

If it has been determined the person does have a Canvas account (all faculty, students, and staff have accounts automatically created in Canvas when their accounts are created in MCommunity), have the person access their My Media account in Canvas. They will be prompted to authorize access to their account; they will need to do this. 

After the access and authorization is performed, you should find the user's name in the Add Collaborator search box.
