How do I log in/sign in to U-M Zoom?

Resolution

U-M Zoom accounts are created automatically the first time you log in.

There is more than one way to log in to your U-M Zoom account. All methods use the SSO option to log in with U-M Weblogin.

Zoom desktop application

If you have not yet installed the Zoom desktop application on your device, refer to Installing Zoom on Your Device for instructions.

  1. Open the Zoom desktop app on your device.
  2. Click SSO
  3. Enter umich in the Company Domain field and click Continue.
  4. A new tab will open in your browser. Log in with U-M Weblogin when prompted.

After logging in, the Zoom desktop app will open with your account.

Zoom on the web

  1. Go to zoom.umich.edu.
  2. Click Sign in and log in with U-M Weblogin when prompted.

Note: If you are already logged in to U-M Weblogin in your browser, you may be taken directly to your U-M Zoom account.

While joining a meeting/webinar

Sometimes, you won't be required to log in to your U-M Zoom account to join a meeting or webinar. However, in most cases, you must authenticate with your U-M Zoom account before entering a meeting/webinar hosted at U-M. (This is because the setting - Only authenticated users can join > University of Michigan Users - is enabled for the meeting/webinar). If you are not signed in when attempting to join the meeting/webinar, you will receive a pop-up message: "This meeting is for authorized attendees only."

To sign in and join the meeting via the desktop app:

  1. Click Sign In to Join from the pop-up.
  2. Click SSO.
  3. Enter umich in the Company Domain field and click Continue.
  4. A new tab will open in your browser. Log in with U-M Weblogin when prompted.
  5. You may need to click the meeting/webinar join link again after signing in to enter.

Zoom mobile app (iOS / Android)
