Migrating a Personal Zoom Account to a U-M Zoom Account

How do I migrate my Zoom personal account to a U-M Zoom licensed/Pro account? How do I upgrade my Zoom Basic or Free account to the U-M Zoom account?


Note: If you already use a University of Michigan departmental Zoom account (SPH or Ross School of Business), contact your IT support before attempting to migrate your account. 

  1. Log in to https://zoom.umich.edu/meeting
  2. If prompted for your U-M Weblogin, enter your uniqname and UMICH (Level-1) password 
  3. A message will appear acknowledging that you are attempting to sign in to a Zoom account that is different from your current account. Click Switch to the New Account.
  4. A new message will appear with information you should be aware of before you switch. Click I Acknowledge and Switch.
  5. You will receive a confirmation request in your UMICH email account from Zoom. Click Switch to the new account in the confirmation email.
  6. Click I Acknowledge and Switch
  7. You will see a message that Your Zoom Account Switch was successful. Click Sign In Now.

Additional Information

Eligibility for the UM Zoom service requires that you be a current Faculty, Staff, Student, or a Sponsored Affiliate on the Ann Arbor, Flint, or Dearborn campuses.

PMI (Personal Meeting ID) and already scheduled Zoom meetings will stay the same after migrating to U-M Zoom.
