MiVideo: Can U-M Shared Accounts Upload, Edit and Publish Media in Mediaspace?

Can my team login to the MiVdeo Mediaspace with our shared U-M account to create, edit, and publish videos?

Note: these instructions only apply to the MiVideo Mediaspace at https://www.mivideo.it.umich.edu/. Other Mediaspaces are configured differently. If you have any questions about access to another Mediaspace please contact the ITS Service Center.

No, due to the security restrictions on this site. U-M shared accounts can login to the MiVideo Mediaspace however they have a view-only access. They do not have a My Media library and cannot upload or edit media. Do not change ownership of a video to a shared account, rather use one of the options below.

There are two ways to share a video in the MiVideo Mediaspace:

• Collaborator:  add individuals as co-editor, co-publisher, or both. If you have a large collection of videos you can request collaborators be added in bulk by the ITS-MiVideo team. 
• MCommunity group: add a group as a collaborator or change ownership of a video to a group. Everyone who is a member of the MCommunity group will receive that access to the video. Contact the ITS Service Center to request an MCommunity group be added to MiVideo.
