Account Switch Detected Error in Virtual Sites

VIrtual Sites (AVD), Remote Desktop

Issue

Trying to log-in to Virtual Sites but receiving an error stating 'Account Switch Detected...try a different account'

Resolution

The error that reads " Account Switch Detected..." appears when you try to download and use an RDP file that you retrieved from the Virtual Sites web portal. This is not a supported way to access our Virtual Sites instance. You should access Virtual Sites via the web portal: instructions to do so can be found here.

Additional Information

Legacy Virtual Sites will be retired on 11/30. Users will no longer be able to access midesktop.umich.edu after that time. All Virtual Sites use will go through virtualsites.umich.edu
