Zoom Assistant - Additional Zoom Desktop Window/Widget

Issue

I have an additional Zoom window that I cannot close (small black window that shows meetings and quick launch buttons). What is it and how can I manage it?

Resolution

This is a new feature Zoom turned on for all users called Zoom Assistant. This is managed in your account and desktop app settings.

To turn access to the feature on or off for your account (enable)

1. Go to https://umich.zoom.us/profile/setting
2. Navigate to the 'Other' section of the page
3. Find the setting 'Zoom Assistant'
   1. It should be toggled off by default
   2. Enable to access the feature on your desktop app

To turn Zoom Assistant on or off once it's enabled

1. Open the Zoom Desktop App
2. Click on the profile picture in the top right of the Zoom window and select "Settings" (Alternatively, click on the settings cog)
3. In the General tab, scroll to the 'Zoom Assistant' option and check the box to turn it on, uncheck to turn it off
