What are TDNext and the Client Portal?

Environment

TeamDynamix

Issue

Technicians need to know about the two portals in TeamDynamix.

Resolution

There are three portals in TeamDynamix: the Client Portal, Users (TDNext), and Administrators.

Client Portal

  • The client-facing side of TeamDynamix, which is called the Client Portal, is where university faculty, staff, and students can find information or request help. Client requests generate tickets.
  • The Client Portal is also where technicians create knowledge articles.
  • You can access the Client Portal by clicking the Client Portal button when you first navigate to TeamDynamix

Users (TDNext)

  • The technician-facing side of TeamDynamix is where technicians view and process tickets submitted to their group
  • You can access TDNext by clicking the Users button when you first navigate to TeamDynamix
  • ITS and many departments around campus have their own ticketing application in TDNext
    • To access your department's application, click the Tickets link along the top of the TDNext window
    • Tickets can be transferred between departmental ticketing apps using the Hub

Administrators

  • Accessible only to TeamDynamix administrators

Navigating between TDNext and the Client Portal

  • Technicians can access TDNext from the Client Portal by clicking on their name next to the profile icon in the upper-right corner and clicking TDNext
    • A new web page will open
  • To go from the TDNext to the Client Portal, click the blue waffle icon on the top left and choose your client portal
