Remove a Connected Device From U-M Dropbox Account

Environment

U-M Dropbox, connected devices

Issue

There is a limit to how many devices can be connected to a U-M Dropbox account. A user can connect up to five desktop computers and five mobile devices to their account
In order to connect an additional device, an existing one has to be removed from their account. You may encounter an error in the Desktop app reading "Interrupted Sign in" if the device limit has been reached for your UM Dropbox account.

Resolution

To remove a connected device from your U-M Dropbox account:

  1. Log in to dropbox.umich.edu.
  2. Click your avatar in the upper right and select Settings from the drop-down menu.
  3. Click the Security tab.
  4. You can find the devices connected to your account listed under Devices.
  5. Click the trash can icon beside the device(s) you'd like to remove.

Once a device is removed, a new device can be added.
