Issue

How do I buy and redeem credit codes for my use?

Resolution

In partnership with the university Tech Shop, MPrint now allows anyone with a uniqname such as students, faculty, staff, sponsored affiliates, and alumni to add print funds to their MPrint account with a credit card, shortcode, or even payroll deduction!

Students: In general, students won’t need to take advantage of this capability as any print charges beyond their term allocation will automatically be billed to their student account. If charging to a student account is not desired, then this process should be followed instead.

Faculty/Staff: Faculty/staff members who want to print personal, non-university related jobs should follow this method to pay for it with personal funds. To print university-related materials, a shortcode account can be set up at https://mprint.umich.edu/accounts > + Create New Account instead of using credit codes.

Purchase Credit Codes

  1. Start at the Tech Shop’s MPrint Credit page
  2. MPrint Credits are sold in $5, $10, and $20 increments.  Use the ADD TO CART buttons to add the amount of credits you'd like.
    1. You can now add funds to your MPrint account with a credit card!
  3. When you’re done shopping, click on your shopping cart and CHECKOUT to complete your purchase
  4. You will receive an order confirmation email followed by a second email containing a unique redemption code for each credit you purchased

Redeem Credit Codes

  1. Follow the link at the bottom of the order confirmation email you received (or navigate to mprint.umich.edu/account#redeem) to redeem your credit codes on your MPrint User Info page
  2. Use the Redeem MPrint Credit Codes pop-up window to enter your credit code(s). Use the + Add Code option to enter another code. Once you’ve copied your code(s) from the email into this window, click $ Redeem
    • Funds will be immediately applied to your account to start printing

Note: If you receive any errors when you hit $ Redeem, double-check that you copied your code(s) properly from the email. If you continue to have trouble, please contact the ITS Service Center via one of the methods listed on the ITS Help page.
