My Video/Camera Isn't Working in Zoom

Issue

Video camera is not working in Zoom

Resolution

  • Make sure the camera is not being physically blocked/covered by an anti spy cover device.
  • Restart the computer.
  • If this does not work, troubleshooting tips for each operating system can be found by navigating to My Video/Camera Isn't Working.
  • If none of these work, your antivirus software may be blocking camera access.
    • You may need to create a rule/exception for your antivirus program to allow an exception for Zoom.
  • Please check all of your video settings in Zoom by going into the Zoom Desktop App (NOT zoom.umich.edu).
  • If nothing else works, please uninstall and then reinstall the Zoom Desktop App. Info can be found here: https://documentation.its.umich.edu/zoom-install
  • If reinstalling the Zoom Desktop App does not fix the issue, send the ticket to the customers Desktop Support. They will need to update the video/audio drivers on the computer and do any other hands on troubleshooting.
