Issue

  • How many Zoom meetings can I join simultaneously with my U-M Zoom account?
  • How can I join multiple meetings simultaneously with my U-M Zoom account?

Resolution

  • You can join multiple Zoom meetings simultaneously, provided you are not hosting more than one of them.
    • Use this functionality carefully, paying attention to when you are muted and when you are unmuted in each specific meeting.
  • You can host one meeting, join it, and then join other meetings you do not host/own.
    • This feature does not support hosting multiple concurrent meetings.
    • Refer to Zoom: Hosting Concurrent Meetings for more information on the limitations of hosting two concurrent meetings.

To join multiple Zoom meetings simultaneously:

  1. Go to U-M Zoom and click Sign in.
  2. Click Settings from the left navigation.
  3. Click the Meeting tab at the top.
  4. Scroll until you find the Join different meetings simultaneously on desktop setting and toggle it on.

Once this setting is enabled, you can join multiple meetings simultaneously in the Zoom desktop app.
