How Can I be in Multiple Zoom Meetings Simultaneously?

Environment

Issue

How can I be in multiple Zoom meetings simultaneously?

Resolution

You can join multiple Zoom meetings simultaneously so long as you are not hosting more than one. Use this option carefully, making sure to pay attention to when you are muted and unmuted in each meeting.

To join multiple Zoom meetings simultaneously:

  • Turn on Join different meetings simultaneously on desktop in your Zoom settings
  • Join the meetings however you normally join meetings, such as by entering the meeting ID in your Zoom client or by clicking a link on your calendar.

For more information, see Joining multiple meetings simultaneously on desktop.

Hosting Concurrent Meetings: Even if you host one meeting and create the second but set an alternative host or set Join Before Host, this may not work because you are the host of record and you can't have concurrent meetings running that both have you as the host of record. For more information on the limitation of hosting multiple concurrent meetings, see Can I Host Concurrent Meetings?

Additional Information

This option was enabled for the University of Michigan account on July 21, 2020.
