Issue

How to search for names and groups in TeamDynamix.

Searching for a person does not always return the expected result. It is helpful to understand how the search for names works in TeamDynamix.

Resolution

Opening the People and Group Searches

1. In TDNext (https://teamdynamix.umich.edu/), click the People tab across the top
   1. If you are in the Client Portal, click your profile in the upper-right corner, select TDNext, and then click the People tab
2. Click People, Groups or Accounts in the left-hand navigation

When searching for Accounts, the green filter in the upper right provides more criteria for searches.

How the People (Name) Search works

The People Search does a like search (exact character match) vs. a full text search (word inference) on the following fields:

1. Full Name
2. External ID
3. Alternate ID
4. Primary Email
5. Title
6. Company

It then sorts the results by Full Name or by whatever column you clicked. 

Additional Information

Search by uniqname followed by the @ sign or search by UMID number.
