Ann Arbor Students/Alumni

  • Starting October 30, 2024, the transcript order process is now being handled completely through Parchment.
  • Electronic transcript orders are no longer limited by class/graduation year.
  • Transcript orders are available to all Ann Arbor students (current and former) and alumni.
  • Electronic transcript orders are FREE.
  • Only rush processing/expedited delivery for paper transcript orders will involve a fee.

Official Transcript Order Process

  1. Go to Wolverine Access and enter 'transcript' in the search bar.
  2. Click Order Transcripts/Check Order Status (Ann Arbor) > Order transcripts (with U-M login).
    • Alternate navigation: Wolverine Access > Students Collection > Student Business > Student Center > My Academics > Order Transcript/Check Status.
    • NOTE: Both navigations require an active uniqname account to complete Weblogin. Friend accounts (guest accounts) cannot be used.
  3. If this is your first official transcript order after October 30, 2024, walk through the sub-steps below, otherwise skip to the next step.
    1. Confirm the Information Release to use Parchment.
    2. You’ll be prompted to create a Learner Account for Parchment - enter your email address and click Continue.
      • It is not required that you use your U-M email address for the Parchment Learner Account.
      • NOTE: Some users may be prompted for a verification code that is sent via email instead
        • If you're not seeing the verification code email, use the option on the Parchment page to have it re-sent
        • If the verification code is being sent to your <uniqname>@umich.edu address and you can't access the inbox, review and update forwarding for your U-M email and then request the verification email be sent again: Forwarding U-M Email to Another Address Using MCommunity
        • After verifying, you should still be prompted for Enrollment Information before being able to order a transcript, skip to sub-step (d).
    3. Enter the requested Personal Information, Contact Information and set a password; then click Create Account & Continue.
      • NOTE: The password that is set for the Parchment Learner account is separate from your UMICH password.
    4. Enter the requested Enrollment Information.
      • NOTE: This page will ask for a Student ID number but it is not required. If you don’t know your 8-digit UMID, you can leave the field blank or enter text in the box (such as ‘Don’t know’ or ‘Don’t have’).
    5. If the 'Finish creating my Parchment account without placing an order right now.' box is unchecked, click Continue.
      • If you've opted to check the box, click Complete My Registration.
  4. The ‘University of Michigan - Ann Arbor’ Parchment page should display at least one option to Order your UM transcript - click Order for the type of transcript you need.
    • Most users will have just the Central Transcript option.
    • Users with affiliations to specific schools (Law, Dentistry, Medical) will have a corresponding transcript option.

  6. After placing an order, you’ll receive a confirmation email from Parchment.

Additional Information

  • For electronic transcript orders, after the order confirmation Parchment sends emails for the following actions/status:
    • the order recipient receives a 'You've Received A Document: <Parchment Delivery ID>' email
    • when the recipient accesses/views the transcript, you'll receive a 'Credential has been previewed' email
    • you'll receive a 'Document has been received' email that confirms a complete request
    • Note: all of these emails should include the corresponding Parchment Document/Delivery ID (DID)
