Zoom: Not Working on Michigan Medicine/HITS Virtual Machines

Environment

U-M Zoom, Michigan Medicine/HITS virtual machines

Issue

Zoom does not work on Michigan Medicine/HITS virtual machines.

Resolution

Zoom does not currently work on Michigan Medicine/HITS virtual machines.

According to HITS: "Zoom is a resource-intensive application. In order to reduce audio delay and improve quality, users should run Zoom sessions directly from their device rather than from within a Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) session. Instead, HITS recommends using Microsoft Teams within WVD.  Note: Do not use Teams if you are accessing WVD using a web browser.  Only use Teams if you are connecting to WVD using the Windows App (Windows PC or Mac)."

Refer to the HITS knowledge article for additional guidance.
