Annoto: Dashboard and Preferences In MiVideo Mediaspace

Environment

Annoto
MiVideo Mediaspace

Issue

How to setup Annoto in a MiVideo Mediaspace.

Resolution

Annoto can be used for different purposes in a Mediaspace. Channel managers and video owners have complete control over which videos have which Annoto tools enabled. One feature can be enabled for all videos in a channel and another feature enabled only for specific videos. Additionally all features can be disabled for another set of videos. Annoto Analytics have already been enabled for all videos in your site.

Important: because Annoto is interactive and collects user behavior, the widget only appears in the player for authenticated (logged in) viewers. If you have a video with Annoto published in a public channel, only logged in viewers will see the Annoto widget.

Enable Annoto features for all or most videos in a channel

You must be a manager for the channel.

  1. Navigate to the channel page > Channel Actions in the upper right > Annoto Dashboard.
  2. From the Annoto Dashboard click the Preferences icon in the upper right.
  3. From the Features tab, either select a use case (which is a ready-made set of preferences) from the Preset drop down, or create your own custom preferences by enabling only the features you want to use
  4. Optional: once you've enabled Annoto for all the videos in a channel, see the next section for steps to to disable preferences for specific videos as necessary.
