MiVideo: Extra White Space Under Player Embedded in Canvas

Issue

Why is there so much white space under my video embedded in Canvas? How can I remove it?

Resolution

The video was embedded using an older version of the MiVideo player that contained the transcript widget under the player. The player was upgraded on August 19,2024 and now the transcript plugin is part of the player. However, the embed code dimensions still allocate space under the player for the old transcript widget.

Fix #1 Re-embed Video

1. Edit the page/assignment/quiz and delete the video
2. In the Text Editor, select the MiVideo icon in the second row of toolbar buttons. If you do not see the MiVideo icon, click the triple dots icon.
3. Locate the video and embed (the new embed code will contain the proper dimensions for the new player)
4. Save

Fix #2 Edit HTML

1. Edit the page/assignment/quiz
2. On the right, under the Text Editor click the HTML Editor icon "</>"
3. Locate the <iframe> tag for the video
4. Adjust the height attribute in the <iframe> tag by subtracting 300 px
5. Save
