Options available when you choose to share a cloud recording.
Information
Share a Zoom Recording
- Visit Zoom on the web. (zoom.umich.edu)
- Click Recordings in the left panel.
- Locate the recorded meeting.
- Click Share... (See below for details about specific settings).
NOTE: Cloud recordings only stay for 150 days in Zoom. Download any recordings that need to be kept longer.
Options available for sharing from the Cloud in Zoom:
Share as "Public" or "Require Authentication"
- Public recordings can be viewed by anyone with the link to the recording.
- "Require Authentication" will require they log in with UMICH credentials to view the recording.
"On-Demand" - require registration
You can share cloud recordings with the requirement that viewers "On Demand Register" for the recording, which will generate a list of people who viewed with date and time.
- When starting recording in the meeting: specify Record to the cloud.
- After meeting is complete (End Meeting), wait for confirmation that video is ready (email).
- Go to website zoom.umich.edu, make sure you are logged in (icon in upper right).
- On left, click Recordings.
- To the right of the meeting/recording name, click Share.
- Leave Share This Recording on, turn on "View recording on demand (Registration Required)."
- Copy the resulting link to share with those you wish to view (and/or paste into a website, etc.).
To see who has viewed the recording:
- Go to website zoom.umich.edu, make sure you are logged in (icon in upper right).
- On left, click Recordings.
- Click the Meeting Topic name to open the meeting/recording settings (does not play the recording).
- Under "This recording is on-demand now On-demand videos require viewers to register before watching the recording" click View Registrants.
