We recommend storing files in your /home/uniqname directory, or via the alternate path at /studenthome/uniqname, where uniqname is your U-M uniqname. These paths directly access your CAEN home directory.
While /tmp is also available, it is a shared resource that is temporary to a specific computer, so data may be lost. In addition, filling /tmp with data from large jobs may lead to your job being terminated.
Note that /afshome/uniqname and /afs/umich.edu are currently accessible via the 2023 Linux CLSE, but AFS storage option from ITS may not be available in future CLSE releases.
