How do I access my AFS files and folders from the Linux CLSE?

Starting Fall 2023, the Linux CLSE will no longer automatically authenticate to your U-M AFS storage after logging into a computer. In order to access your AFS storage, you will first need to execute the following two commands:

kinit
aklog

You will then be able to access AFS using the following commands, depending on where the files are located:

Personal "Home Directory" Storage:

cd /afshome/<your uniqname>

Other Course or Group Storage:

cd /afs/umich.edu/<path to storage locations>

Note: The 2024 version of the Linux CLSE will no longer support any AFS access.
