Can External Non-UM Guests View, Upload, and Submit MiVideo Media in Canvas?

Issue

If an instructor adds an external non-UM guest student to their Canvas course will the student be able to view MiVideo content published in the course, upload to a My Media library, and submit a MiVideo video as an assignment submission?

Resolution

Yes, because Canvas authenticates that user with MiVideo.

Students must authenticate with MiVideo to use the service. Students will not be able to view any embedded MiVideo media until they authenticate with MiVideo.

Authentication will occur the first time the student accesses their My Media library (Account > My Media) or the first time the student access the course Media Gallery (click the link in the left course navigation).
