How to upload a file into Virtual Sites, Where does my file go when I upload it?

Resolution

To upload a file into Virtual Sites you need to launch either a individual application or a full Windows Desktop in the Virtual Sites portal. Whether you have opened either a full desktop or an individual application the steps to upload are the same:

  1. Once your application or desktop loads, a new upload button will appear in the top right hand corner of the Virtual Sites window, this button is an arrow pointing up into a horizontal line
  2. Click on the upload button
  3. A new window will appear where you are able to browse your local files, choose the file you would like to upload
  4. Click open
  5. Your chosen file is now uploaded into the Remote Desktop Virtual Drive on RDWebClient folder

The steps to find and open your uploaded file differ depending on whether you are using an individual application vs. a full desktop

  1. If you are using an individual application
    1. Use that applications open function
    2. Navigate to the This PC section of the file browser window
    3. Open the Remote Desktop Virtual Drive on RDWebClient
    4. Your uploaded file should be here
  2. If you are using a GPUDesktop or NonGPUDesktop
    1. Open the Start menu
    2. Select File explorer
    3. Under Redirected drives and folders double click on Remote Desktop Virtual Drive on RDWebClient
    4. Your uploaded files should be here
