eSignature: Flattening PDF for Upload to a Third Party

Issue

How do I flatten my completed SignNow document?

Resolution

To flatten your document (i.e., prevent editing and ensure a consistent appearance) in order to provide it to a third-party site (e.g., the National Institute of Health), follow the steps below.  These steps provide the optimal method for accomplishing this while maintaining an acceptable size of the final document.

  1. Download your document from SignNow.
  2. Open your document in Adobe Acrobat.
  3. Select File > Print.
  4. Select Adobe PDF as the printer > Print.
  5. Select a destination on your computer to save the flattened PDF, then click Save.

Note: If you discover that your final flattened PDF document is missing the timestamp / e-signature ID, please follow the steps in SignNow: Settings for My Account and Email Alerts. You can update your SignNow settings under My Account - Settings.  After doing so, repeat the steps above and the timestamp / e-signature ID will now appear on your document.
