Zoom: Can I Use My @umich.edu Email to Create a Personal (Non-UM) Account?

U-M Zoom, personal (non-UM) accounts

Issue

• Can I use my @umich.edu email address to create a personal (non-UM) Zoom account? (i.e., not a U-M Zoom account)
• I tried to sign up for a personal Zoom account, using my @umich.edu address, and it didn't work. It shows I need to contact ITS for help.

Resolution

• Zoom accounts using @umich.edu email addresses are reserved for U-M Zoom accounts.
• If you are an alum, retiree, or otherwise not actively affiliated with the university, you do not have access to create a U-M Zoom account with your @umich.edu email address.
• You must use a non-UMICH email address to create a personal (non-UM) Zoom account.
