Issue
How do I add U-M Dropbox to Microsoft Teams?
Resolution
To add U-M Dropbox as a storage option in Microsoft Teams:
- Click Apps in the left panel of your Microsoft Teams desktop app.
- Search for Dropbox in the field to the left and press Enter.
- Find Dropbox in the search results and click Add.
- Click Open in the pop-up that appears.
- Click the Dropbox tab across the top.
- Click Log in.
- Enter your @umich.edu email address and follow the login process in the dialog box.
- You might receive a pop-up asking you to choose a Dropbox account: Personal, University of Michigan, or No, don't authorize Microsoft Teams. Choose University of Michigan and follow the login prompts.
- Click Allow to connect the Microsoft Teams app with your Dropbox account.
- Click Accept to connect the Dropbox app with your Microsoft 365 account.

- Editing Word, Excel, or any other Microsoft file type is view-only within Teams unless you click the ellipses (…) to the right and select OPEN IN BROWSER.
- If you open a Dropbox Paper file, it will redirect you to U-M Dropbox in your browser, where you can edit the Paper file.
