Zoom Security Warning: Untrusted Server Certificate

Environment

Zoom

Issue

The Zoom desktop application creates a pop-up showing a Zoom Security Warning about an Untrusted Server Certificate, asking the user to click "Trust Anyway" or "Do not trust."

Resolution

This happens because of a proxy server setting. The resolution is to allow zoom.us and *.zoom.us from proxy or SSL inspection: Zoom network firewall or proxy server settings.

Michigan Medicine

  • Contact the HITS Service Desk (HITS Device Support) for resolution.
    • Note: This issue is particularly common for Michigan Medicine users because HITS uses a proxy.

All others

  • Contact your Unit IT and provide this article for resolution instructions.
