NOTICE
Environment
Windows, Microsoft Outlook
Issue
When minimizing an open Outlook window, it appears to close - it disappears and does not show up when you hover over Outlook in the task bar.
Resolution
It’s possible to set Outlook to hide its windows when minimized, which has the same appearance of the window being closed. To turn this off, do the following:
- When Outlook is running, there will be an Outlook icon in the Notification Area (lower-right section of the display) or in the System Tray (the ^ icon in that same section)
- Click on the Outlook icon to bring up the menu
- Toggle the option “Hide When Minimized”
