Cannot Copy or Save Chat Messages in Zoom

Issue

Zoom participants are unable to copy messages sent using the chat function in Zoom and cannot save the chat transcript in a meeting or webinar.

Resolution

In order for a participant in a meeting or webinar to be able to copy text from the in-meeting chat, the host of the meeting must adjust their account settings to allow users to save the in-meeting chat.

Learn more about turning on in-meeting chat and allowing participants to save the chat. You will need to adjust this setting in both the meeting and webinar settings pages depending on which experience you are using.

Note: Allowing participants to save the chat also means they will be able to manually save the entire in-meeting chat as a text file.
