Errors When Attempting to View a Zoom Cloud Recording

Environment

U-M Zoom (not including Zoom for Health at U-M, as cloud recordings are not a feature in Zoom for Health at U-M)

Issue

  • When I attempt to view a Zoom cloud recording, it takes me to a Zoom sign-in page
  • When I attempt to view a Zoom cloud recording, I see a message: "You cannot view this recording. No permission."

Resolution

When I attempt to view a Zoom cloud recording, it takes me to a Zoom sign-in page

  • The recording settings require viewers to log in to a Zoom account in order to view the recording
  • Log in to your U-M Zoom account using SSO:
    • Click Sign in with SSO
    • Enter umich in the Your company domain field (if you see Your company email instead, enter your @umich.edu email)
    • Sign in with U-M Weblogin

When I attempt to view a Zoom cloud recording, I see a message: "You cannot view this recording. No permission."

  • The recording settings limit who can view the recording, and the account you are currently signed in with is not permitted to view it
  • Ensure you are signed in with your U-M account:
    • Click the square avatar in the upper right corner of the screen, which may show a letter or may show a picture
    • If the account shown does NOT end in @umich.edu:
      • Click Sign Out
      • Navigate to https://zoom.umich.edu/meeting and sign in to your U-M account using U-M Weblogin
      • Try to access the recording again
    • If the account shown DOES end in @umich.edu, proceed to the next bullet
  • If you still cannot access the recording, but you think you should be able to, contact the host. They may need to adjust the sharing settings.
