- When I attempt to view a Zoom cloud recording, I see a message: "You cannot view this recording. No permission."

Find the description below that corresponds to the issue you are seeing and follow the instructions. Note that in most cases, it doesn't matter from where you are attempting to view the recording (Canvas, an email, a website, etc). The instructions should be the same.
When I attempt to view a Zoom cloud recording, it takes me to a Zoom sign-in page
- The settings for this recording require that viewers log in to a U-M Zoom account in order to view the recording. Learn more about settings to control who can view U-M Zoom cloud recordings.
- In order to determine whether you will be able to view the recording, check whether you are eligible for U-M Zoom
- If you are eligible: log in to your U-M Zoom account using SSO:
- Click SSO (in the Or sign in with section)
- Enter umich in the Your company domain field (if you see Your company email instead, enter your @umich.edu email)
- Sign in with U-M Weblogin
- You will be redirected to view the recording (Note: if you instead see a message that you are not eligible for the service requested, you are not eligible for U-M Zoom; continue to the next bullet)
- If you are not eligible: the recording's sharing settings do not permit you to view this recording; this recording is set to require people to login to U-M Zoom to view it, but you can't login to U-M Zoom
- This setting is the default for all U-M Zoom recordings, so the host (owner) of the recording may not be aware that you won't be able to see it
- If you think you should be able to view it, contact the host, send them a link to this page, and ask them to take one of the steps listed in Additional Information below
- It is up to the host whether they honor your request

Additional Information
Options for sharing recordings so that those who are not eligible for U-M Zoom can view them:
- If this is for a Canvas course, upload the recording to the course Media Gallery
- This is the recommended and most secure method for recordings of class sessions or other recordings that may contain FERPA-protected data
- Change the recording's sharing setting to Public
- This will allow anyone with a link to the recording to view it without signing in
- Be careful: this is the least secure method, and if the link is posted publicly online, anyone who finds it could view the recording
- Download the recording and send you the .mp4 file outside of Zoom (such as by email, Google Drive, etc).
