ChemDraw 25 Activation on Sites Computers

Environment

ChemDraw on Windows and Mac Campus Computing Site computers as well as Virtual Sites

Issue

Users are unfamiliar with the new login and authentication process required to activate ChemDraw version 25, which differs from previous versions.

Resolution

  1. Upon first launch, the software will open a window indicating "You must sign in to Signals..."
    1. The login page is pre-configured with the University of Michigan (U-M) specific URL
    2. Users do not need to select their school manually
  2. Click Sign in
  3. A new browser window will open
  4. Login with your full uniqname (xxxxx@umich.edu) and password
  5. The next page will say “ChemDraw Desktop would like to:...."
  6. Click ALLOW
  7. A pop up will appear asking “Open ChemDraw 25?”
  8. Click Open ChemDraw 25
  9. This completes the activation and you will be able to use ChemDraw on the Sites device
