Allow Pop-Up Windows in Safari

Mac and iOS Safari 

Issue

 How to allow pop-up windows (popups) to open automatically in the Safari browser

Resolution

Safari iOS

  1. Select “Settings”
  2. Select “Safari”
  3. Under "General," navigate to "Block Pop-ups" and turn the corresponding switch icon to the "off" position.

Safari 12 for MacOS

  1. Select “Safari” > “Preferences“, then select on “Websites” at the top of the window
  2. Select “Pop-up Windows” on the left side
  3. Currently opened website appears on the right side
    1. In the drop-down menu select "Allow"
  4. Close the browser and re-log back in. User should be able to click the link and a new tab open

Safari 11 and 10 for MacOS

  1. Select “Safari” > “Preferences“
  2. Click on “Security” at the top of the window
  3. Check the box “Block pop-up windows” to enable this feature
    1. Uncheck it to disable it
  4. User may have to close out browser and re-log back in
