Mac and iOS Safari
Issue
How to allow pop-up windows (popups) to open automatically in the Safari browser
Resolution
Safari iOS
- Select “Settings”
- Select “Safari”
- Under "General," navigate to "Block Pop-ups" and turn the corresponding switch icon to the "off" position.
Safari 12 for MacOS
- Select “Safari” > “Preferences“, then select on “Websites” at the top of the window
- Select “Pop-up Windows” on the left side
- Currently opened website appears on the right side
- In the drop-down menu select "Allow"
- Close the browser and re-log back in. User should be able to click the link and a new tab open
Safari 11 and 10 for MacOS
- Select “Safari” > “Preferences“
- Click on “Security” at the top of the window
- Check the box “Block pop-up windows” to enable this feature
- Uncheck it to disable it
- User may have to close out browser and re-log back in
