Slack: Filter Channels by Specific Workspace

Environment

U-M Slack

Issue

How do I filter my channels by specific U-M Slack workspaces?

Resolution

By default, your sidebar will show “All workspaces” when listing your channels. However, you can filter the sidebar to individually view specific U-M workspaces and their channels and apps.

To filter channels by a specific workspace:

  1. Click University of Michigan at the top of your channel sidebar.
  2. Hover over "University of Michigan" in the drop-down menu that appears to reveal a list of all U-M Slack workspaces of which you are a member.
  3. Select the workspace for which you want to view channels. You will notice that the initial "University of Michigan" name at the top of your channel sidebar has been replaced with the workspace name you selected.
Note: You cannot select multiple workspaces to view at once. It’s either all workspaces or one at a time.
