Issue
Synchronize pronouns set in MCommunity to TeamDynamix
Resolution
Starting on August 12, 2023, some pronouns set in MCommunity will be synchronized to TeamDynamix (TDX). Pronouns that will be sent to TDX must meet the following criteria:
- Marked as "Display to Anyone" in MCommunity
- Up to 334 characters
- Pronouns in MCommunity that exceed 334 characters will be trimmed to the first 334 characters
- Are not base64 encoded
- base64 encoded values include superscript and subscript characters and non-alphanumeric characters including, but not limited to characters such as: ↓ † ∩ ↑ ↓ ∀ and picture-like characters
Users can update their pronouns at https://accounts.it.umich.edu/profile/
- Updates to TDX are event-driven, so once an update is made in MCommunity, a valid value will be sent to TDX. Users should allow up to 5 minutes to updates to display in TDX.
- Deleting the value from the pronoun field or changing the permission level to "Display to UM only" or "Display to Me Only" will result in the value in TDX being removed.
- On deployment, the driver will slowly backfill already-filled in MCommunity values to TDX.
- This process may take up to 3 days.
- Only values in MCommunity will be sent to TDX.
- Updates made in Wolverine Access will not be sent to TDX.
