Zoom Cloud recording is intended as a short-term solution for sharing recordings, and not for long-term hosting. The current U-M Zoom Cloud recording retention policy is 150 days, meaning recordings will be auto-deleted to allow U-M to meet the short-term Zoom storage needs of the campus community. It is not possible to disable the auto-deletion policy of recordings the U-M Zoom Cloud environment, but recordings may be downloaded and/or transferred to another service for long-term hosting, such as U-M Dropbox.
Transferring previous/individual Zoom Cloud recordings to Dropbox
To download previous Zoom Cloud recording files to your computer:
You can then upload the individual recording files to Dropbox. Once the recordings are in Dropbox, you may treat them like any other Dropbox file, including sharing them, moving them, etc.
Automatically transferring Zoom Cloud recordings to Dropbox
In addition to using the above steps to download individual recordings, you can set up the Zoom for Dropbox integration. This will create a "Zoom" folder in Dropbox, and any future recordings will be automatically transferred there.
